Protect your mattress with a soft cotton and polyester fabric that repels liquids and stains. It goes on and comes off like a fitted sheet and, under ultraviolet light, reveals the TURMALINA seal: visible proof that the treatment is in the fabric.

What is tourmaline

Tourmaline is a natural mineral from the silicate family, known for being piezoelectric and pyroelectric: it generates a small electrical charge when heated or pressed. That is why it has been used for years in textile finishes for rest.

In the test carried out by AITEX, the finish on this protector stayed in the fibre after 20 domestic washes, and the luminescent seal remains visible under UV light.

Technology

Turmalina Ceramic by Turmal.ink treatment with a luminescent seal visible under UV light. The seal is permanent: it will always show under UV light. What gradually decreases with washing is the treatment’s activity, which according to tests begins to decline after around 20 domestic washes.

Materials

50% cotton · 50% polyester. Stain-resistant, liquid-repellent fabric.

Care and washing

Machine wash at 30 °C, ideally inside out.
Use a detergent without optical brighteners: they also glow under UV light and can mask the TURMALINA seal.
No bleach or fabric softener: softener leaves a film that reduces liquid repellency.
Dry it on the line, ideally in the shade.
Proven durability: in AITEX’s test, the finish held up after 20 domestic washes at 40 °C. The UV seal is permanent; what starts to decrease after about 20 washes is the activity of the treatment.

Ultraviolet light

Shine UV light on it and you can see the tourmaline

Shine an ultraviolet torch on the fabric and the TURMALINA seal and its pattern of hexagons appear. It is the simplest way to check that your protector carries the original treatment.

The seal is permanent and will always show under UV light, wash after wash.
